CSOA’s Q&A with Unsukay Concepts
CSOA: What is Unsukay Concepts?
Unsukay: A restaurant group created by partners Ryan Turner, Todd Mussman, and Chris Hall. Unsukay Concepts consists of three restaurant concepts: Muss & Turner’s, Eleanor’s, and Local Three. The purpose of Unsukay Concepts is to make people feel good and our community a better place.
C: What does Unsukay mean?
Un: Unsukay is a word made up by the restaurant partners. Unsukay is a genuinely fabricated word that sounds French for “doesn’t suck”.
C: What are you company values?
Un: Personal responsibility, kaizen (continuous improvement), love, contribution, integrity, authenticity, harmony quality, excellence, and profitability.
Muss & Turner’s

Muss & Turner’s opened in Smyrna, GA in 2005 by owners Ryan Turner and Todd Mussman and later joined in 2010 by Chris Hall. C: What is something that most people do not know about Muss & Turner’s?
Un: The hidden speakeasy bar located behind our Muss & Turner’s cooler door. Named for Eleanor Seale, our friend, drinking buddy, and in-house sage.
Eleanor’s
C: What is Eleanor’s?
Un: A hidden bar located behind the cooler door inside of Muss & Turner’s. Eleanor’s is affectionately named after Eleanor Seale is our friend, drinking buddy, de facto Mom, in-house Sage, and the fabric that holds “it” all together for us. Named the best hidden bar in the state of Georgia by USA Today and the top 4 speakeasies in Atlanta by AJC. Stop by and you may even get a chance to meet Eleanor yourself!
C: Is Eleanor’s open to the public?
Un: Yes! Eleanor’s is open daily starting at 11:30am for full service lunch. Last call is approximately one hour after the kitchen closes.
C: Now tell us about Local Three Kitchen & Bar.
Un: Local Three is the shared vision of three local partners – Chris Hall, Todd Mussman and Ryan Turner – that opened in December 2010. Local Three’s menus are inspired by the local and seasonal availability of ingredients and one abiding culinary philosophy – you can’t argue with delicious! Local Three is here for all of your weekend brunch, lunch, dinner, happy hour, group dining, chef’s table, and private event needs. Local Three’s weekend brunch buffets have been named among the best brunches in Atlanta by the AJC, Zagat and more with the menus changing weekly. Home to one of the largest and most diverse whiskey collections in the Southeast, Local Three was recently named one America’s best bourbon bars by The Bourbon Review.
Local Three
C: What do you recommend off of the menu from Local Three?
Un: We would highly recommend the Angus Skirt Steak Asada from the dinner menu, however our menus change frequently and this may be rotating out soon. If you haven’t tried The McDowell burger on our lunch menu, it’s also an award-winning lunch dish featuring two angus beef patties, special sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles, onions. The truffle parmesan popcorn has been called “cat nip” for humans.
C: What is something that most people do not know about Local Three?
Un: Nothing is in the restaurant by accident. Everything has a story and a purpose, most derived from our favorite movies and inside jokes. From the carpet selection, to the artwork on the walls, all the way to the salt and pepper shakers, everything is intentionally placed. Ask your server for more examples!
