Hard Rock Cafe: Rocking Atlanta Since 1992

“Love All Serve All; Take Time to be Kind; All is One; Save the Planet.” These sound like campaign slogans for the 2016 Presidential election! Actually, they are the mottos for Hard Rock Cafe. Established in New York City in 1971, their mission is “To spread the spirit of rock’n’roll by creating authentic experiences that rock.”

Located on Peachtree Street in the heart of downtown, Hard Rock Atlanta was established in 1992 and is still rocking after twenty-four years. Packed with memorabilia from your favorite legends and musicians with roots below the Mason-Dixon Line, Hard Rock Cafe Atlanta is a living museum of musical history. Known for their festive atmosphere and great burgers, Hard Rock Cafe is a favorite amongst visitors to Atlanta. However, they also have a lot to offer to the local crowd. Their menu offers fresh, house-made entrees with local flair, including crisp salads, mouthwatering desserts, and signature cocktails. They have recently rolled out their signature flatbreads as a new appetizer option. I recently visited the Atlanta location and one thing stuck out in my mind: the service. The wait staff was friendly, enthusiastic and absolutely accommodating. They represented the “love all, serve all” motto perfectly. In a world where rudeness prevails, this was a nice respite.

One thing that sets Hard Rock Cafe Atlanta apart from locations in other cities is their event space. Velvet Underground at Hard Rock Cafe is located directly adjacent to the restaurant and provides an intimate setting in which to host events and showcase musical acts. I recently attended a showcase there hosted by a local radio station. Around fifty of us were invited to attend a Charlie Puth showcase where he talked to the audience about his musical talents and the rise of his career, answered questions and performed an acoustic set of some of his most popular songs. I even had my picture made with him. In addition to musical showcases, the event space can be used for corporate events, birthday parties, anniversary parties, rehearsal dinners, etc. The space contains a stage and a full bar as well as a large area that can be used for sitting, dancing and eating. The capacity at Velvet Underground at Hard Rock Cafe is 120 for seated events and 250 for reception-style events.

If you think that Hard Rock Cafe is only for convention attendees and tourists, think again. It is a great place to have a drink and an appetizer after work to wait out the traffic for the commute home. It is also a good option to take the whole family before or after a concert, sporting event or local attraction such as the World of Coke, Civil Rights Museum or GA Aquarium.

If you are looking for an authentic experience that rocks, go to Hard Rock Cafe Atlanta. Visit during the month of June and take advantage of the World Burger Tour 2 featuring burgers from around the world. While you are there, be sure to check out the Rock Shop® where you can take home your own piece of history. Their artist-inspired shirts and classic Hard Rock t-shirts make great gifts for everyone on your list.
