Schitt’s Creek premiered on CBC television in January 2015, starring real-life father-son duo Eugene Levy and Dan Levy. Eugene Levy plays Johnny Rose, a wealthy family patriarch who made his fortune as a video store mogul. When his business collapses, he and his family decamp to the only financial asset they have left: Schitt’s Creek, a Canadian town they once bought as a prank. Over the ensuing seasons, the once-privileged Rose family has to reckon with its new financial status and the unexpected realities of small-town life. The show’s audience expanded to the US when it premiered on Netflix in January 2017. Buoyed by fan enthusiasm, the Schitt’s Creek cast decided to launch a speaking tour. Their live comedy show, Schitt’s Creek: Up Close and Personal, features behind-the-scenes anecdotes, in-depth discussions of the production process and audience Q&A sessions. The tour will hit venues throughout Canada and the US, ranging from Toronto’s Sony Centre for the Performing Arts to the Chicago Theatre.
