Mark your calendar for live jazz at the High on the third Friday of every month, hosted by Jamal Ahmad from Jazz 91.9 WCLK, Atlanta’s jazz station! Music, drinks, art—no matter the month, every Friday Jazz offers a great lineup featuring different styles of jazz, from straight ahead to free jazz, bebop to swing, and more.
February features vocalist Tabreeca Woodside. A New York native and the youngest of seven musicians in a preacher’s home, Tabreeca grew up singing in her local church scene. She went on to be educated at the Berklee College of Music in Boston, where she pursued Bachelor of Arts degrees in music education and jazz performance. During her studies at Berklee, she was one of four students chosen to tour and perform the original piece The Movement Revisited, written by world-renowned jazz bassist Christian McBride. Tabreeca has had the privilege of performing with Christian on multiple occasions over the years. Tabreeca has spent the last five years as a worship pastor on the staff at Victory World Church in Norcross under the leadership of former R&B recording artist and current pastor Montell Jordan.
