CSOA Says: Our Favorite Fall Activities
Atlanta during the fall season is filled with fall festivals, pumpkin patches, football games and more! We have compiled a list of our favorite fall activities that we know the whole family will enjoy!
Pumpkin Patch
Take the whole family out to the pumpkin patch and pick the perfect pumpkin to carve! We love going to to Burt’s Farm in Dawsonville, Georgia and exploring their mountain farm ! Burt’s Farm also has hayrides and a country store that we know everyone will enjoy.
Apple Picking
Take a trip up to the North Georgia Mountains and visit Hillcrest Orchards! Hillcrest is family owned and operated and has been growing apples and fun for children, adults and seniors since 1946. Drink apple cider and bring home your favorite apple baked goods. Hillcrest Orchards hosts the Apple Pickin’ Jubilee on fall weekends Sept. 8 – Oct. 28. In addition to apple picking, enjoy a petting zoo, wagon rides, festival food and more!
Fall Hiking
Who doesn’t love a fall hike? We recommend Sweetwater Creek State Park! Dog friendly and a short 3.3 mile trip trail with options to do longer or shorter, this is a great hike that is good for all skill levels! Admire the fall foliage and white-water filled creek while on this hike.
Fall Festival
Atlanta is filled with can’t miss festivals – We love attending the Cumming County Fair and Festival every October. This year they are celebrating their 25th year! They have some great concerts planned, daily attractions, rides, food, and more!

Go Camping
Head on up to Cloudland Canyon State Park for some camping! Campers can expect breathtaking views and beautiful vistas. Located on the western edge of Lookout Mountain, this is one of the most scenic parks in the state – it will be especially beautiful with that fall foliage!
